My first day waking in Lochcarron saw the most beautiful morning, with wisps of mist floating through the hills above the end of the loch.

Strome Castle is a ruined castle on the shore of Loch Carron in Stromemore, 3.5 miles south-west of the village of Lochcarron One of the first views you see when entering the fort is a ruin of a wonderful arched window overlooking the loch, out towards the sea. Too popular with tourists to work with either model Nude, Ingrid had brought a white dress for just such an occasion, and though some eye-brows were raised as she modeled, no offense was given, and Ingrid was left with a haunting portrait in a stunning setting.

The beauty of this image belies the fact that it was drizzling on and off all through our travels through the valley the Dun Telve Broch is in. I would have loved to have made some images of Ingrid or Miranda in the building, but between the rain, and the public location, it wasn’t practical.
