During a visit to a friend's house, an origami mobile caught my eye - the shallow depth of field of my 85mm portrait lens was perfect for the subject.

Every New Year's Day since 2007, I've been visiting Peggy's Cove, to photograph in the New Year. This year had no snow, but there was a rich array of icy pools to work with - the above image being my favorite of the visit.
