During
my visit to Edinburgh in 2008, I’d spent some time in the Greyfriars
Kirkyard, but this time it as a more focused visit, with an hour or more
spent exploring the grave sites, and avoiding the Olympic flame parade
and party that was swirling around us.

One
of my hopes for the brief stay in Edinburgh was that the night would be
conducive to night photography, and it was indeed (though the sky could
have been prettier. All the same, I am really pleased with the results,
and with the beauty of the evening walk through the city.
