The Light Beyond is finally installed at ViewPoint Gallery and
open to the public; unlike many of my shows to date, this is focused on
a technical element, as opposed to subject or location. In addition to printing, framing and hanging the show, I also painted the gallery a
neutral gray before installing the exhibition (sadly, the majority of
the co-op members decided they liked it better white, so after the show
is over, I have to paint it back to white).
Another
element that sets this show apart from others is that it is the first
exhibition I had decided to print with a tone to the monochrome images
(usually I print them as neutrally as possible). I struggled with what
tone to use for some time, but finally settled on rich warm brown for
the shadows, shifting to a soft pale yellow for the highlights.
