Early Spring at York Redoubt (Halifax, Nova Scotia)

Digital original
Every decade or so, the gun-line at York Redoubt is repainted; for the first year or so, the white wash is painful to look at in direct sun, but once it weathers a little (a year or two), it becomes a little more "in tune" with the landscape around it.

The RML guns at York Redoubt looked so freshly painted they seemed wet; it was beautiful to photograph, as there were so many other colours reflected.
Digital originall
I love the fact the original assembly marks from over 140 years ago are still visible on the RML guns.
