I can't count the number of times I have walked past this wharf, and not seen its possibilities.

As I was walking back from the waterfront, I saw this street musician; I
asked him if I could make a portrait of him, and he said "Yes", and
promptly dropped his head, and stayed that way. Made on my little Sony
NEX-5 with a 50mm f/1.8 lens, I am really impressed with the richness
and detail of the image.

I so strongly prefer to work with soft
light that I sometimes forget how wonderful it is to work with direct
sunlight, especially with richly textured subjects.
